Profile and Area of Expertise
He was born in Ravipalli, a small village in Vizianagaram district and comes from rural lower middle class background where there are no educational facilities. Because of that he had to walk to the nearby mandal headquarters for his primary schooling. He graduated M.B.B.S. degree from the Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh during 1984 and won gold medals in several subjects. Then, he got seat in MD General Medicine in the prestigious “All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), New Delhi” and M.D. degree was awarded in 1988 and moved to super specialization in D.M in 1992 from the esteemed Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad and the DM (Cardiology) degree was awarded in 1995. He has received world famous prestigious fellowships form the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), Washington, DC, U.S.A in 2012 and also The American College of Cardiology (FACC) awarded him Fellowships in 2014 for his dedicated work and contributions to the field of cardiology which gave him international recognition. He also received Fellowship of European Society of Cardiology (FESC) in February 2014 for his outstanding contribution to the field of cardiology. He has published over 100 publications in various national and international journals and conference proceedings, and also attended numerous conferences, seminars and workshops worldwide as a delegate, keynote speaker, chairperson and resource person for the past 20 years.
