Dr. Sugumar is a Naturopathy and Acupuncture Physician practicing at Shri jayaranga naturopathy hospital and yoga research center, in Tamil Nadu. He has more than 18 years of experience in this field. In 2007, he founded Shri Jayarangha Health Club. As a result, he began monthly awareness campaigns in 2007 and opened a 30-bed hospital in 2013 that was ISO 9001: 2015 certified. He collaborated with numerous groups to run more than 1500 natural medical camps and participate in humanitarian projects. He delivered medical lectures on television, FM radio, and All India Radio. He provided numerous medical students with internship chances. At the National Institute of Naturopathy in Pune and the CCRYN in Delhi, he took part in group discussions and research classes.
He published numerous medical articles. He also spoke on medical topics at retirement councils and mental forums. In educational institutes like Jamal Mohamed College, Bharatidasan University, etc., he offered lectures and medical consultations. He is teaching Neyveli Lignite Corporation how to live a “natural way of life.” He is on the board of the botany department at Bishop Heber College. He ran a naturopathy awareness campaign and provided advice to students at St. Joseph College and Andavar College.

- Director Thangar Bachan gave him “Maruthuva Chemmal” on behalf of Nandhavanam magazine in 2017.
- In 2017 Tamizh Panbaadu Kazhagam gave him a “Best Doctor” Award and Vasanth TV awarded him “Maruthuva Chemmal”. On behalf of JCI, the “Best Doctor Award” was given. Vivekananda foundation bestowed him a “Best Doctor Award” and “Best Naturopathy Analyst Award”.
